Warner Announces RocknRolla

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Guy Ritchie film 'RocknRolla' to Blu-ray on January 27th, day-and-date with the DVD release. The only technical spec known at this time is that the film will come on a BD-25, though you can expect a VC-1 video encode.

Igor Announced for Blu-ray Release

MGM Home Entertainment in conjunction with Fox Home Entertainment have announced that they will bring the animated film 'Igor' to Blu-ray on January 20th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Featuring the voices of John Cusack, John Cleese, and Steve Buscemi, no technical specs have been announced for the film, but you can expect the typical 1080p AVC video accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack from the studio.

MGM Brings Ronin to Blu-ray

MGM Home Entertainment in conjunction with Fox Home Entertainment have annouced that they will bring the Robert De Niro and Jean Reno action film 'Ronin' to Blu-ray on February 24th. Coming on a BD-25, this film is identical to the disc released in Japan last year with video presented in MPEG-2 video accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack. No extras have been announced for this title at this time.

Fox Makes Little Miss Sunshine and Sideways Official

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the two comedies 'Little Miss Sunshine' and 'Sideways' to Blu-ray on February 3rd. Both of these titles were previously listed with retailers, and had remained unofficial announcement until today. No technical specs have been announced for either title, but you can expect the typical 1080p AVC video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack from the studio.

The Duchess Announced for Blu-ray

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Keira Knightley film 'The Duchess' to Blu-ray on December 18th, day-and-date with the DVD release. For this true story also starring Ralph Fiennes, video will be presented in 1080p accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Paramount Announces Ghost Town

Bourne Films Announced for Blu-ray

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the three Bourne films - 'The Bourne Identity', 'The Bourne Supremacy', and 'The Bourne Ultimatum' - to Blu-ray as a single box set deemed 'The Bourne Collection' on January 27th. All three titles will come on BD-50s featuring 1080p video accompanied by 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks.

Walmart Bows $128 Blu-ray Player for Black Friday

Frugal shoppers listen up! There are an absolute ton of Blu-ray Disc players and titles that are going to be signicantly reduced for the sales that accompany the day after Thanksgiving - also known as Black Friday. One of the lowest we've see so far, is that Walmart will be offering the Magnavox NB500MG9 BonusView Blu-ray player for only $128!

Sony Invades China with Blu-ray

Starting this Friday, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will make available 30 current and classic Blu-ray titles for sale in China, the first Hollywood studios to release films on the high definition format in that country. The title releases are meant to coincide with the release of the Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray Disc player in China.

Anchor Bay Home Entertainment have announced the technical specs and special features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'Henry Poole is Here', which is due to hit store shelves on January 20th, day-and-date with the DVD release. For this Luke Wilson film, video will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

House Bunny Moves Forward; The Women Pushed Back

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the upcoming Blu-ray release of the Anna Faris comedy 'The House Bunny' has been pushed up to a December 19th release date. Those of you staring at your calendars will take note, this is a rare Friday release that is no doubt testing the waters much as the Saturday release of 'Kung Fu Panda' did for Paramount.

As a movie studio, Pixar has spent its entire existence exceeding the expectations of even the most critical moviegoer. By setting their quality bar at "perfection", they have constantly delivered some of the most memorable and enjoyable films ever created. Today's Blu-ray release of 'Wall-E' is no exception - with its unconventional voids of dialog and uncanny emotional appeal, Pixar has once again proven that they are not just in this business to entertain, but to push the limits of film making.

Ghost Town and The Dutchess Coming Soon

In an early report to retailers, Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed that they will bring 'Ghost Town' and 'The Duchess' to Blu-ray on December 27th, day-and-date with the DVD release. For these two titles, video will be presented in 1080p accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Special features have yet to be announced at this time.

8 Mile Blu-ray Delayed

According to various retailers, the upcoming Universal Studios Home Entertainment Blu-ray release of Eminem's '8 Mile' has been been delayed from its original November 18th release date. The semi-autobiographical film will now come to the high definition format a month later on December 16th. It is currently not know why the title was delayed, or if any specs have changed in the process.

Wonder Woman Special Features Revealed

Warner Home Video has revealed some of the special features that will be included on the upcoming direct-to-video animated Blu-ray release of 'Wonder Woman', which is due to hit store shelves on March 3rd, day-and-date with the DVD release. Video will be presented in 1.78:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a Dolby Digital Stereo soundtrack.
